new full CNC portable machine tools
WS, TOP 200 and TOP 400, are capable
of astonishing even the most expert
specialists.

To the traditional characteristics of Sir
Meccanica’s portable machine tools,
the new boring machine tools add the
precision that comes from the electronics
in order to effect, directly on-site, or
wherever necessary, micrometric facing
of internal and external surfaces on the
extremity of fixed tubular bodies which
do not rotate and cannot be handled
with conventional machine tools. These
items, contained in handy trollies,
make the on-site turning and threading
processes possible, without the need to
disassemble and transport the piece to
be repaired to the workshop. Equipped
with a state-of-the-art controller with
touchscreen technology, the full CNC
TOP allows for manual programming
directly on the machine, or through PC,
with CAD/CAM software. Thanks to the
3D simulations, it is possible to verify in
advance the “behavior” of the machine
tool and effect the work with the
maximum level of precision. Hence, TOP
is able to perform all the conventional
machining of a fixed lathe but without
the limitations and the constraints that a
fixed lathe can present.
Moreover, the WS Full CNC Series,
thanks to the feed and repositioning
system, has the capacity to effect
internal machining of housings, fillet
surfaces, interpolations and threading
not visible externally, in positions
which are difficult to reach with the
conventional machine tools while
achieving high levels of feeding along the
machine axis.
Versatility and reliability
The qualities of extreme versatility and
high reliability, made possible by the
numeric control, have permitted the new
Sir Meccanica machine tools to gain a
prominent position on the market in a
very short time and to be appreciated
all over the world, from Russia to Africa,
through China, Singapore, Indonesia, up
to the United States. They are seen as
excellences in the Made in Italy.
For example, in Chicago, point of
reference in the United States for
machine tools, A.C.T. has experimented
the efficiency of the TOP 400 directly on
the field during the biennial exhibition
IMTS. A.C.T. which is specialized in
the production and repair of hydraulic
turbines, has been assigned the task of
