Measurement & Monitoring Flexible MX460B module from HBM offers outstanding measurement performance Moisture Measurement for Metals in Harsh Environments Now available from HBM – a market leader in the field of test and measurement – is the new MX460B four channel digital pulse and frequency module, which is part of the QuantumX measuring amplifier system from HBM. Heat treatment processes for metals represent harsh environments for the measurement of blanket gas constituents. Ambient conditions in the furnaces have high particulate levels, acid gases and other compounds either outgassing or being burned off of the metal components being processed. These issues, combined with high temperatures, make chemical measurement of the furnace environment extremely difficult. Like other models available from the QuantumX range, the MX460B features outstanding flexibility and offers excellent measurement performance and ease of use. As a growing number of modern drives demand flexible and reliable testbench measurement technology, the MX460B digital pulse and frequency module, features four channels which can all be individually configured and used to measure torque, rotational speed, angle position and displacement. These issues have all been solved by the introduction of the COSA Xentaur XTDL moisture analyzer. COSA Xentaur’s XTDL is based on the patented WMS laser technology that employs a back scatter technique with no active optical components in the sample gas stream. Particulate or acid gases have no impact on the measurement making the unit virtually maintenance free. The XTDL comes factory calibrated with a proprietary tuning process requiring no field calibration. Simply hookup the power, connect to the gas stream, and start the moisture measurement. Tinytags range from compact units for indoor use to rugged, waterproof devices for industrial and outdoor applications. Accompanying probes are available for measuring extremes of temperature, for comparing ambient and process temperatures, and for monitoring awkward to reach areas such as pipework. Stand-alone Tinytags record data downloaded to a PC for analysis. A Radio System is available for premises with multiple monitoring points: data is gathered automatically and sent via a receiver for direct viewing on a PC, across a LAN, or remotely across the internet.
