Editors Choice MSPS part of consortium to design new Cell Therapy Catapult Manufacturing Centre Supporting growth of UK cell therapy industry Morgan Sindall Professional Services (MSPS), the multidisciplinary design and engineering firm, is providing mechanical and engineering, civil and structural and CDM services to design the Cell Therapy Catapult’s new £55 million large-scale ‘Good Manufacturing Practice’ (GMP) manufacturing centre. MSPS worked with a consortium of companies to complete the RIBA Stage 3 design: 3PM to provide project management; The Fairhursts Design Group as project architects; and Gardiner & Theobald as cost managers. Make your checkweighers fit for speed and precision The large-scale GMP manufacturing centre, due to open in 2017, will be used by companies for the manufacture of late-phase clinical trial material and initial commercial supply of advanced therapeutic medicinal products including cell and gene therapies. Simon Steed, associate director, building services of MSPS, says that the consortium team was chosen for its combined expertise in designing a Class B environment facility: “The design will allow for further growth and business efficiency.” Email: [email protected] www.professionalservices.morgansindall.com SuperCORR A protects and lubricates Contacts on the new Charge/Sync Cable from Lifedge SuperCORR lubricant and protective coating widely used by the military, electronics and aerospace industries for critical applications is used to protect contacts on the new Lifedge lightning connector to USB cable to offer the protection needed in extreme conditions. SuperCORR deposits a dry protective film with excellent corrosion protection and lubricant properties plus the added advantage of a hydrophobic surface rejecting water that ensures the easiest and best connection for the very close spaced connectors. Lifedge is the world’s first 100% waterproof, rugged Lightning to USB cable for charging and mobile connections whatever the weather or conditions. Developed for use in all outdoor activities including sailing, hiking, military, naval, surveying or other challenging uses. With an ultra-durable outer coating that will never fray and double-moulded, super-tough plugs, charging, downloading and data transfer is improved even in the most extreme and difficult conditions. Fit for precision Donghua Limited has launched a new Chain Lube Spray to combat 80% of chain wear which is a result of poor lubrication. Whilst Donghua chain already comes pre-treated to improve wear-life, their new Chain Lube enhances the performance of their chain even further. Designed for regular use or in between routine maintenance schedules, the Chain Lube Spray provides a simple but effective way to actively replace or top-up the lubrication that is inevitably lost during daily operation. Top values when it comes to precision, with standard deviations of only 0.1 g for 10 kg and the new accuracy class C4. So your machines can guarantee safety and precision with minimum reject rates. Participating stockists of Donghua chain are running a ‘3 for 2’ promotional campaign until 31/12/15. Fit for competition To locate your nearest stockist visit: www.donghua.co.uk/locate-a-dealer With up to 60% cost advantage over other load cells based on electromagnetic force compensation, the FIT7A is competitively priced. Flotronic Pump’s new ‘E’ Series’ achieves the EHEDG seal of approval Having already secured 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc (3-A SSI) appro val for its ‘H’ series pump, Flotronic Pumps Limited have now achieved the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) accreditation for their new ‘E’ Series pump. Flotronic’s ‘E’ Series pump has been specifically designed for the Food and Beverage industry and other processes where product contamination must be avoided. The pump’s features include Flotronic’s established and unique ‘ONE-NUT’ pump design which allows swift diaphragm access without disconnecting process pipework. The internal surfaces of the ‘E’ Series pump can be effectively ‘cleaned in place’ or, alternatively, easy dismantling can be carried out for cleaning and inspection.
