Save time and money
with Lindapter
The adjustable nature of Lindapter’s
steelwork connections is providing timesaving and cost-effective solutions for
contractors installing pipework.
Lindapter clamps such as the Type AAF
allow lateral adjustability, which ensures
a quick alignment before tightening with
just simple hand tools, eliminating the
need for drilling or welding. The new
M20 size Type AAF self-adjusts to suit
6mm to 40mm flange thicknesses and is ideal for heavy-duty pipework
due to its high capacities in both tensile and frictional loading.
Lindapter can even design and manufacture fabricated assemblies for the
pipes supporting steelwork too. Visit www.lindapter.com to find out
more about Lindapter’s steel-to-steel connections.
Densoband aids prevention
of concrete surface
cracking
Winn & Coales Densoband was specifically developed to
meet Highways Agency requirements for concrete-toasphalt joints and asphalt-to-asphalt road joints. Now,
a new use has been found by CLS Civil Engineering of
Brigg, Lincs., which does not rely on Densoband’s longterm water sealing properties. Following discussion with
Winn & Coales (Denso) Ltd a 55x8mm version of Densoband was used to provide
an expansion joint between the concrete and the steel anchoring in a gap in the
channel of a steel anchor plinth base for a wind turbine foundation. The purpose
was to prevent cracking on the surface of the concrete base to which the turbine is
anchored, which can be caused by temperature differences and the vibration that
can arise from movement of the wind tower. The Densoband strip also prevents
any stone or gravel debris getting into the channel.

eSafe
The CEJN eSafe™ pneumatic
range is setting new standards
within the industry by combining
safety with performance.
BNM manufactures special fasteners
and machined components for critical
applications including Oil & Gas, Offshore
& Subsea. Product quality and material traceability are our prime concern
complemented by our rapid manufacturing and delivery service.
The eSafe™ range is designed
to create a safer work place
environment by eliminating the
hose whip which is currently
the main risk with pneumatic
systems.
eSafe ™ has the highest flow on the coupling market which ensures
maximum energy to the tool and is leak free which can help you achieve
your ESOS energy saving targets. Savings of up to 30% can be achieved
using our eSafe™ Safety Range.
CEJN are showcasing eSafe at The Advanced Engineering 2015 Show in
November.
Alloys ranging from L7M to N07718 & N10276 are machined to produce an
infinite range of bespoke components & special fasteners. High criticality
fasteners, TR3101, Nace, Norsok, PED & 3.2 certification are routine
requirements at our facility in South Yorkshire UK, which exports worldwide. Chemical, metallurgical, mechanical and non-destructive testing
are performed to accompany a full range of heat treatment and surface
coating services.

Phytron space engines
power the cameras of
the DAWN space probe
The final frontier Space flight of the 21st century
has not even left our solar system and already fills
the people with wonder, through stunning images
and data. Step by step, the extreme environment of space is being conquered in
ambitious scientific missions such as DAWN. The space probe DAWN has been on a
journey through our solar system since 2007, exploring the asteroid Vesta and the
dwarf planet Ceres. The fact that DAWN is still sending high-resolution pictures to
Earth even after eight years in space is owed to the developers of the two framing
cameras.
VSS space precision stepper motors by the company Phytron (diameter 25, 200step) adjust the filter wheels of two onboard cameras and drive the spindle-driven
mechanism of the flap that protects the sensitive camera lens from dirt and damage.
The Phytron VSS motors, originally optimized for vacuum use, provide the basis for
space-qualified VSS space designs. A variety of modifications protect the motor from
vibrational loads during rocket launch. Materials and tests are extensively documented.

First Sensor presents the Series 8r silicon avalanche
photodiodes (APDs) with high sensitivities in the red and green wavelength
range. The APDs feature a flat gain curve where the internal amplification rises
slowly with the applied reverse bias voltage. Therefore, the Series 8r allows for
easy and accurate adjustments of high gain factors. The new photodiodes are
ideal for applications which demand fast rise times and low capacitance.
The Series 8r provides APD chips with active areas of different sizes. The
devices are available in leadless ceramic-carrier SMD packages or hermetically
sealed TO housings. The very flat SMD packages can be equipped with different
band-pass filters on request. Further, First Sensor offers custom avalanche
photodiodes v
