Process Technologies Sun Valley are nuts about Axium Process’ Filters Sun Valley, a market leading supplier of quality processed and raw nuts to Europe’s most successful retailers and major blue chip manufacturers, has recently purchased a number of bespoke filter systems which have been designed and manufactured by filtration specialist, Axium Process and which are providing Sun Valley with improved process efficiencies and reduced downtime. Working closely with Sun Valley, Axium’s engineers designed and built a stainless steel duplex and triplex filter system using Axium’s Pure-Screen Wedge-Wire Filters which have a proven track record for their reliability, robustness, versatility and are also very simple to clean. The system, which is manufactured in 316L stainless steel, was delivered complete with frames, gauges, isolation valves and fittings and was supplied with full materials certification to BS EN 10204 3.1. This complements the range of electric infra-red systems at Neston, so that customers, and potential customers, will now, for the first time, have the opportunity of trialling their products using various infra-red technologies, to achieve the optimum process to meet their heating, curing or finishing requirements. The new oven is particularly suitable for powder coating and the Neston installation also includes a powder-coating station and an overhead conveyor to simulate real process situations. Other applications include food drying, thermo forming, textiles drying, leather curing and curing coatings on heat-sensitive substrates, such as MDF. Increased Productivity and lower energy requirements, these 2 benefits complement each other in the latest development to SEEPEX’s Smart Conveying Technology (SCT), the innovative technology for progressive cavity pumps In addition to the well-established 1-stage design for pressures up to 4 bar, SCT is now available in a 2-stage design for pressures up to 8 bar. The 2-stage design has the same features as 1-stage SCT: a stator split into two halves, which can be removed from the rotor without dismantling suction or discharge pipework, a quick release rotor, and an intelligent re-tensioning system. It has been further developed for higher pressures, and continues to offer enhanced pump performance, longer component life and easy maintenance. If you would like more information on 1 or 2-stage SCT then please contact [email protected] for more information or to arrange a SEEPEX visit. Caltec world leader in production boosting and compact separation Caltec is the world leader in production boosting and compact separation; enhancing production processes for over 100 oil and gas fields around the world. Caltec’s Wellcom Boost™ system increases producing LP wells, or can revive ‘dead’ wells by utilising energy from HP wells otherwise wasted by choking. Caltec’s technology also de-bottlenecks compressors, replaces compressor stages and recovers flare gas, reducing emissions, using no moving parts, consuming no power/fuel gas and is virtually maintenance free. The new pump is being used in a fertilizer production process by GrowHow – a leading UK fertilizer manufacturer, and a major supplier to the chemical process industry. GrowHow had been using an original SH80 pump for a demanding effluent transfer duty, which had given good service for over three decades. “The original pump was still working well, but unfortunately it had been discontinued and GrowHow decided to upgrade to the latest pump design,” explains NOV Account Manager Paul Green. “We proposed a Compact C range pump as the most appropriate modern alternative and it proved to be an excellent choice,” he adds. “We needed something which combined excellent suction lift performance with the ability to handle high suspended solids content,” continues GrowHow’s Chris Smith. “It also had to be able to withstand the very aggressive nature of the effluent, so that it could prov
