News & Events Seton recognises employees as key to customer service award success WES win ECA award for Innovation in Contracting In June 2015 Seton proudly accepted the European Catalogue & Mail Order Direct Commerce (ECMOD) Outstanding Customer Service Award. The company wanted to take this opportunity to highlight how the enthusiastic and dedicated employees of Seton contributed to this success. The award was based on work that WES had undertaken with the Royal Navy and Babcock in applying innovative solutions to complex cooling system corrosion issues on Royal Navy warships and submarines. Kevin Wheeler MD: Jane Revell-Higgins, ECMOD Direct Commerce Awards Founding Director, said: “There was a complete focus on the customer throughout all departments in the business”. Speaking to some of these team members, it is clear that the customer is at the centre of everything they do, whether they work in the customer service centre or in the warehouse packing orders. “I am delighted with this accolade in recognition of the hard work across the entire WES business and in particular the electrical team. Until recently WES have been predominantly a mechanical specialist for chemical systems in the water industry. Development of the electrical capability coupled with working for the Royal Navy was a tough challenge but we exceeded expectations.” www.seton.co.uk www.wes.ltd.uk Motovario opens MAC Centre Thousands of swivel options... BSRIA Chief Executive, Julia Evans, says: “It is essential for the construction industry – both now and in the future – that there is a drive to increase the number of women studying STEM subjects at university – especially engineering. The current statistics for women in the construction workplace is about 12% compared to 47% in other industries. This differentiation is clearly unacceptable. Unfortunately, we’re currently back to the issue of a lack of available skilled labour. The government recognises this and, last year, BSRIA welcomed the government’s announcement on a £30m fund to secure supply of engineers and boost number of women in sector. The funding will support employer-led training to encourage career conversions and progression in the industry.” More information at www.bsria.co.uk.
