prestigious awards and residencies,
Kron has “hosted and emceed benefits, galas, variety nights, rent parties,
talent shows, pig roasts, bingo nights,

Simone Leigh—Visual Arts (2016)
Leigh creates sculpture, videos and
installations informed by her interest
in African art, ethnographic research,
feminism and performance. Her primary medium is clay—in the form of
terra cotta and porcelain—fired with
such historically resonant, earthy elements as salt and gold.
Untitled II (Anatomy of Architecture series), 2016.
Schooled in West African and Native
American ceramic traditions, Leigh
crafts vessels, female busts and sculptural forms composed of items, like
cowry shells, plantains and watermelon
slices, which have served as stand-ins
for stereotyping the black body.
