HERB RIVER DRIVE
Rethink Design Studio is known for
blending old and new, high and low,
and unifying various styles into a
harmonious environment. For a family renovating a low country home
overlooking the river on Dutch Island,
the designers worked on the project in
three phases. While the wife possessed
an ardent love of design, the husband
was more interested in function.
Through close collaboration, mutual
respect and trust, the team created a
welcoming, personal and ultra-functional interior that fits the family of
four perfectly.
Lined with French doors overlooking
the water, the “River Room” is the
centerpiece of the home. A vaulted
ceiling with original trusses lends an
airy feel to the interior, which is decorated in a palette of coastal greys with
bursts of color in the abstract art and
accessories. A custom cocktail table by
Verellen anchors the seating area with
a sculptural glass chandelier by Ochre
Lighting hanging above.
