Fun Fall Color Tammy Dalton, Modern Salon & Spa PHOTOGRAPHY BY Jenni Council WRITTEN BY W When I ask my clients “what’s your favorite season?” I almost always hear “fall.” Why is that? What about autumn inspires us so much? Is it the fun boots, slouchy sweaters, or sitting outside with our giant cup of coffee? For me, the answer is “yes!” But most of all, it’s driving down the road and seeing the beautiful oranges, reds, and yellows painted on the trees. This instantly gets me thinking about haircolor. Finally, fall is here so let’s tone down the blonde and start thinking about rich, vibrant color! 76 PEACHY Usually when I say rich, warm color people hesitate because they think I’m going to turn them into a red head like me. Fall coloring doesn’t have to just be red, think yellows and golds like leaves on a tree. If you are used to only being dark, ask your stylist to paint in a few natural golden highlights around your face. Then eventually you can incorporate more like Siobhan. Or on the opposite end, if you are used to always being blonde, try asking your stylist to add in a few rich golden lowlights to soften the blonde for the new season.
