From Low to High Maintenance
If you are like me, the first makeup
item you owned was mascara. I

strokes could change your face and
make you feel more glamorous and
grown up. While that lash transformation is still true for me, so much has

green tube from the drugstore. Here
are some options depending on how
much maintenance you want.
EVERYDAY MASCARA For luxe lashes,
low maintenance types go for everyday mascara. What constitutes a
“good” mascara is highly subjective,
so find one you love that doesn’t
smudge and is easy to remove. I am
not a fan of waterproof unless you
absolutely need it. You lose lashes
every time you take it off, so use it
sparingly, if at all. Also, and this is
something I can’t stress enough—
buy it frequently—at least every three
months. You get better results from
fresh mascara and best of all, it won’t
have funky bacteria that can irritate
your eyes. This is why I usually have
a drugstore mascara—it is easier to
replace and easy on the wallet. By all
means, if you have the budget, the
high-end mascaras are luxurious. With
either category, don’t be afraid to use
multiple coats or layer different types
of mascara—this really gives you that
dramatic look.
