Each agreed that the property should be saved but neither volunteered to take the lead. After subsequent discussions, they slowly but surely took on the monumental and complex process of working with politicians, philanthropists, city planners and many others to preserve and 68 PEACHY develop the High Line. As it was noted later, the duo was described as “a pair of nobodies who took on an impossible mission.” The High Line is located on the west side of Manhattan, extending from Gansevoort Street to West 30th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues.
