Meet and Mingle Speed Mentoring Event
In September 2018, PDA hosted this semi-structured
networking event for University of Pittsburgh dental
students to help provide insight into what it is like to
practice in different types of locations and practice
settings. At the beginning of the event, students
completed a quick, fun quiz to help determine a location
and setting that might fit their interests or personality.
PDA members who represent a variety of locations
and practice settings were in attendance and students
participated in small group discussions with the dentist
that best fit their location/setting quiz result. PDA hosted a speed mentoring event in September
2018 for dental students at Temple University and the
University of Pennsylvania. Students were in small groups
and participated in 12 eight-minute mentoring sessions
with PDA member dentists.

ADA National Signing Day
Applications Collected:
LECOM: 74%
The ADA National Signing Day (NSD) campaign
provides senior dental students with the opportunity
to sign up for their free ADA/PDA membership and
learn more about how it can help them transition to life
as a new dentist. PDA hosted ADA NSD events for Penn,
Temple, Pitt and LECOM Erie class of 2018.
Penn: 60%

CV Success
In March 2018, PDA’s New Dentist Committee hosted
CV Success for third- and fourth-year dental students
from Temple and Penn. The program featured a CV/
interviewing presentation and as well as panel discussion
with new dentists from a variety of practice backgrounds.
