2017 ADA ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM
PDA HOSTS MEET & MINGLE
The ADA Engagement Program allows societies to apply
for grant funding to conduct new programs that aid in
membership recruitment and retention, with a focus on dental
students, residents and new dentists. In 2017, PDA conducted
a “Meet and Mingle” program, partially sponsored by the ADA’s
Engagement Program.
PDA created and hosted a new social event for University of
Pittsburgh dental students to help gain insight into what it
is like to practice in different types of locations and practice
settings. At the beginning of the event, students completed
a quiz to help determine a location and setting that might fit
their interests or personality. PDA members who represent a
variety of locations and practice settings were in attendance
and students participated in small discussion groups with the
dentist that best fit their location and setting quiz result. The
event gathered 39 dental students and 10 member dentists.
