EVENTS AT THE PV LIBRARY

On Monday , August 21st a total eclipse of the sun will be visible in the United States for the first time in almost 40 years ! Join the Prescott Valley Public Library and the Prescott Astronomy Club to learn why this happens and safely experience this magical event . Activities for all ages ! Free solar eclipse glasses will be given to attendees . Stop by the Prescott Valley Civic Center Amphitheater ( 7501 E . Civic Circle ) on August 21st anytime from 9am-12pm to participate in this fun , free event ! Call 928-759-6188 with any questions .

“ Crochet One , Knit Too !” PVPL Ongoing Program : Prescott Valley Public Libraryʼs informal group of folks who enjoy the art of crochet , knitting , and any other portable needle craft . If someone needs help reading a pattern or figuring out a new stitch , there is always someone who can lend a hand . Besides sharing knowledge and expertise , this group shares patterns as well . “ Prescott Photography Group ” PVPL Ongoing Program : This open group is comprised of photographers of all skill levels . The program generally begins with a social half hour to share photography techniques and issues . Attendees can expect a visual presentation of photographs by one of the members with a discussion with the photographer afterwards . “ Professional Writers of Prescott ( PWP )” PVPL Ongoing Program : PWP is a group of published and non-published writers and editors who live in North Central Arizona . Included are writers of all persuasions and genres , including poets , novelists , memoirists , and creative nonfiction writers . PWP aims for the highest expression of the craft and are dedicated to sharing their expertise with less experienced writers . PWP provides programs , workshops , and annual writing contests . “ Yavapai Flute Circle ” PVPL Ongoing Program : The purpose of the flute circle is for like-minded individuals to simply meet and enjoy each otherʼs company while playing and listening to Native American flutes . Yavapai Flute Circle promotes the Native American flutes , preserves its history , and respects its cultural origins and traditions . “ PVPL Quilters ” Ongoing Program : Prescott Valley Public Libraryʼs informal group of quilters meet twice a month to enjoy each otherʼs company , work on projects ( hand or machine ), and share techniques with each other . The group frequently has snacks and refreshments , as well as a Show and Tell . 1st and 3rd Fridays @ 9-12
“ Coloring Class for Adults ” Ongoing PVPL Program : Come and enjoy a relaxing time coloring with other adults . No rules , just fun ! You can bring in your favorite coloring book and materials or choose from a variety of coloring pages and materials that we have to explore the simple pleasures of coloring . Some basic instruction for ideas and techniques to spice up your coloring are available .
