To assist you in making your selection, please take the time to read the information about the candidates below. Successful candidates will be sworn in at the Bar’s Annual Installation Banquet at The Breakers Hotel on June 1, 2019. *Incumbent Lindsay Demmery * Firm/Employer: Prestige Land & Law, PLLC Law School: Nova Southeastern University Year admitted to practice: 2006 Year joined PBCBA: 2006 As a current Board member seeking re-election to the Board of Directors, it is my hope that the members will give me the opportunity to continue to serve and give back to the legal community that I have grown up in. It is my firm belief that Palm Beach County is one of the best places to practice law, and I want to keep it that way for years to come. Some of the factors that contribute to making Palm Beach County such a great place to practice is the sense of community here, and the highly involved local bar association, both of which I believe to be interdependent of each other. Palm Beach County has one of the top bar associations in the state, and I would like to continue my service in making it even better, and the best way I have been able to contribute is to use all the knowledge I have gained from being on various committees and boards, to help improve the programs we have as well as create new ones. Throughout my years working on different committees and associations, such as past YLS president and past PB Co. FAWL president, I have focused my attention on programing and improving membership benefits. Currently, the Palm Beach County Bar offers members a wide variety of benefits from community service opportunities, CLEs, health programming such as yoga and 5ks, discounts on products and services, and networking events. However, according to a recent survey we conducted, many members either do not know about some of the benefits offered or would like new and different ones to be offered. So I have been working as the Board membership liaison with the membership committee on some exciting new programs and marketing for members giving more value to your membership. It is my hope, that given the opportunity to continue to serve on the Board of Directors, I can continue to help improve and innovate the programs and benefits offered at the Bar in such a way that truly adds tangible value to your membership. Thank you again for your prior support, and I hope to continue serving you for another two years. Leora Freire Firm/Employer: GrayRobinson Law School: Seton Hall University Law School Year admitted to practice: 2003 Year joined PBCBA: 2005 I joined the PBC legal community mid-2005. At that time, I was given great advice- join the bar, attend events, get involved and raise your hand. I was happy to oblige. I immediately joined PBCBA and other local bars. When the chance arose, I volunteered- having sat on various committees through the years, including having co-chaired the commercial litigation section of the Bench Bar Conference for two years, and currently serving as co-chair of the Membership Committee. While remaining an active PBCBA member, I simultaneously served on the PBC FAWL Board, ultimately serving as president in 2012-2013, later becoming State FAWL president in 2016-2017. During those years, I also accepted opportunities to become involved in The Florida Bar, having served on multiple committees, including a grievance committee, graduating from the Leadership Academy, and joining the Board of Governors as a non-voting member for a year while acting FAWL president. My involvement with local bar associations has been instrumental in my success. It has been where I met my referral sources, my mentors and my friends- some of my best friends. It is because of those relationships that I have been blessed with amazing opportunities! I have been fortunate to serve our legal community both at the local and statewide levels, but Palm Beach is my home. I look forward to bringing home what I have learned from my experiences around this state, and building upon it, to hopefully give back to PBCBA as much as it has given to me.
