 Blood Thinners — help prevent clots from forming in blood vessels. Examples include Warfarin (Coumadin), Enoxaparin (Lovenox), Heparin, Fondaparinux (Arixtra), Dabigatran (Pradaxa), Apixaban (Eliquis) and Rivaroxaban (Xarelto). Possible side effects: nausea, diarrhea, poor or no appetite, bleeding.  Heartburn Medicine — prevent stomach acid from being produced, prevent and treat reflux and ulcers. Examples include Pantoprazole (Protonix), Omeprazole (Prilosec), Esomeprazole (Nexium) and Famotidine (Pepcid). Possible side effects: upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth.  Steroids — treat inflammation of the skin, joints, lungs and other organs. Examples include Prednisone (Deltasone), Methylprednisolone (Solu-Medrol) and Hydrocortisone (Solu-Cortef). Possible side effects: nausea, upset stomach, dizziness, irritability, restlessness, insomnia, increased appetite, temporary weight gain, headache.  Potassium — helps control heart rhythm. Possible side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort. 9
