ALUM 1992 Charles Rummens, Port Richey, earned his LPN certification/licensure at PHSC and returned in 1999 to receive his RN degree. Working as an RN in varying capacities for over 23 years, Rummens earned his BSN degree. His current employment is with a nationally ranked rehabilitation hospital. His wife, Caryn (1998), also PHSC alumna, earned her Associate in Arts degree at PHSC and completed her education at the University of South Florida (USF), receiving a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She has been a Pasco County educator for several years and returned to PHSC occasionally for continuing education courses. A first class PHSC education has truly been a family affair. All three of Charles and Caryn’s daughters attended PHSC for dual enrollment classes and furthered their education at the University of South Florida. Cayla graduated from USF (2014) and will soon begin graduate school. Brianna graduated from USF (2017) and is now pursuing an international law degree. Cooper is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of California San Diego and is the Student Volunteer Coordinator for Chemists Without Borders.
