LMC Dental’s residency programs provide students with the foremost
academic exposure and hands-on clinical experience available anywhere.
Our innovative, highly acclaimed didactic
curriculum, developed over the last 40 years,
exceeds ADA-CODA requirements for general
core courses across all disciplines as well as
lectures, case presentations and other didactic
education specific to each program.
NYU Lutheran Dental’s residents receive
incomparable hands-on training by conducting
in some of our programs as many as 2,500
procedures per year under the guidance of worldclass attending faculty in all dentistry disciplines.
Residents work with state-of-the-art dental and
medical equipment in community hospitals and
health centers, dental schools, and mobile clinics.
They are trained to treat a range of culturally
and ethnically diverse patients, to conduct
general dental procedures and to carefully and
compassionately treat and manage special care
patients who require unique care protocols,
including those with developmental delays,
mental and physical disorders, chronic diseases,
HIV/AIDS and other medically compromising
limitations.
All clinics are linked technologically via the most
advanced interactive video teleconferencing
system, to provide a real-time/live collaborative
learning experience inclusive of lectures and
case review sharing with colleagues regardless
of geographic location.
Residents are encouraged to explore and share
their clinical experiences within this online
interactive community, which enriches all
students’ learning by exposing them to wide
ranges of diagnoses and treatment options – for
example, how diseases affect oral healthcare in
other regions and across cultures.
High faculty to student ratio
In addition, all residents have ready access
to lectures, case studies and other resources
through NYU Lutheran Dental’s vast on-demand
(asynchronous) learning resource, allowing them
to dig deeper, revisit lectures or engage in selfdirected learning at their own convenience.
