Meet Belinda Bialek, Resident of the Month Belinda Bialek was born July 24, 1957, to Willard and Betty Robinson, in Kansas City, Kan- sas. Willard worked as the captain – and later chief – of the Kansas City Fire Department and retired after serving there for 32 years. He also worked as a school bus driver, a truck driver, and owned a roofing company called R&R Roofing Co. Her mother, Betty, stayed home to raise Belinda, her sisters, Judy and Sandy, and brother, Bill. Betty also stayed actively involved with the Ladies Guild of Knights of Columbus Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Belinda grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, where she attended Christ the King Catholic School and F.S. Schlagle High School. She continued her ed- ucation at Kansas City Community College and Colorado Technical School. On June 9, 1984, Belinda married Michael Joseph Bialek, who worked at Blue Bell Ice Cream. In their nineteen years of marriage they had three sons and five grandchildren. Belinda is very proud of her sons. Michael works in garage door sales and repair, Aaron is a police officer in Tennessee, and Matthew is an Officer in the Army in Germany. Following college, Belinda worked at the front desk of a psychiatrist’s office, then at Payless Cashways handling money at the register. She also worked at the front desk of Physicians Associated. While there, she took a few years off to be a stay-at- home mom and ran an in-home daycare. When her sons were old enough, Belinda started working nights at UPS. Follow- ing her divorce in 2004, Belinda met Thomas Duran, a kind and caring man that worked with her at UPS. They were friends for a year before pursuing a relationship. They have been together for 14 years. Over the years, Belinda has worked hard to support her family, turning hobbies into business endeavors, including a candy and cake business and working in a flower shop. Belinda loves crafts, especially quilting and crocheting. She also enjoys spend- ing time reading. Belinda came to Parkview in June 2019. When asked her favorite part of living here, she said her room because it feels homey. Congratulations, Belinda, on being chosen as the Parkview Healthcare Facility’s Resident of the Month!
