CAPRA is the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies, which is administered by the National Recreation and Park Association. There are currently 151 CAPRA standards. Agencies must comply with all 37 Fundamental Standards and with 90% of the remaining 114 standards. Once initial accreditation has been achieved, annual reports are sent to the Commission to identify any significant changes within the agency for that year and re-accreditation is sought every five years. 23) Emergency Access Fitness Station [TYP] This monumental accomplishment will demonstrate our agency’s continuous success in being independently evaluated against established benchmarks and assures policy makers, department staff, and the public that we are committed to bringing a continuous level of innovation, agency efficiency, and quality of service to our community.
