CAMP

Proudly, the City’s Parks & Recreation
Department partnered with Port St.
Lucie
Public Schools Food Service Division to provide
nutritious meals for participants in the Camp
programs. In addition to our campers receiving
free nutritious meals, all the children surrounding
our parks and other summer programs that visited
the playground at Whispering Pines Park or Civic
Center Fountains were offered and served free
meals. By implementing this program, we fed over
300 children daily for nine weeks of summer. Staff
served over 7,000 meals throughout the duration
of Camp. This number doesn’t include the number
of children that were not registered in our Summer
Camp Program. This program is governed and
federally funded by the Department of Agriculture.
