where. Our building probably took
a lot longer than it would had we
built it somewhere else on a vacant
piece of land. We knew this is where
we had to be, where we wanted to
be. The time it took to see this proj-
ect through, is probably why other
people don’t get projects done as
frequently here.”
In talking with the Weatherford
residents, Eggleston has formed what
he sees as the consensus of the other
business owners and area residents.
“That is, that the current traf-
fic situation is untenable,” he said,
adding that something has to be
done. “Everyone has a different opin-
ion on what has to be done. Now,
that is obviously the rub. There has
to be an answer. Business owners,
city officials, and residents all have to
agree that something has to be done.”
Some of the most rewarding cases
to Eggleston is when he gets to work
with somebody who’s starting a small
business. “When they come to us
and we help them put together their
company, structure a business plan,
engage with their customers, [and]
get them up off the ground, that’s
rewarding to me. Someone pursuing
their dreams, that’s as rewarding as
closing a multi-million-dollar deal or
doing work for a major corporation.
I’m fortunate to be able to do that
quite a bit. I like helping small busi-
nesses.”
What keeps Eggleston bounding
out of bed each morning?
“I like the challenge of my job
day-to-day,” he said. “I’m fortunate
to work with my dad and some of
my best friends. I like helping my
clients and making a difference in
the community. … I’d get up morn-
ings to provide for my family [and]
to hopefully, make my wife and my
kids proud. In my career, my number
one objective is to provide for them
and to help make as great a life as
possible.”
Interestingly, Eggleston talks about
how he’d like to be remembered.
“I don’t think I want to be
remembered for being a great busi-
ness man,” he said. “If I can be
remembered for being a good
husband and father, if I can do those
two things, then I think everything
else will fall into place. That’s prob-
ably all I am worried about.”
