Bachelorette — Heather Johnson Charity — Parker Paws  Restaurant — Fish Creek 66 Parker County’s Heather Johnson grew up in Willow Park and gradu- ated from Weatherford High School. Today, she is a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelors in Psychology, works as a realtor for HBS Real Estate, and had volunteered for Parker Paws Animal Rescue, which she will be fundraising for in partnership with Fish Creek. Before real estate, Johnson worked in sales at an engineering firm in Fort Worth. After landing the job though, she realized she wasn’t passionate about her work and made the bold decision to switch her career path. Since the change, Johnson is not only happier but successful in her new job. During her first full year as an agent she sold over $3.7 million and no longer has to commute out of her hometown. “I grew up here and that’s part of why I love working here,” said Johnson. “It’s a great group of people, and watching it grow and expand into what it’s about to become, it’s just great to see the small-town feel that we still have.” When she isn’t working, Johnson spends time contributing to the community. By chance, she became involved with Parker Paws. Before she became a volunteer, Johnson lived in an apartment that didn’t allow animals. Though she didn’t have a pet, the policy still posed an issue because she couldn’t take in animals temporarily either. “I’ve always been a dog person; I grew up as an animal lover. Stray dogs always seemed to find me, so Parker Paws would always help me when I found them. So, when I finally got my own place and could take them in and help them, I joined the group and have been fostering ever since,” she said. “I’ve been with Parker Paws for three years now. I helped run the dog program for a while, I’ve been a dog foster, and, because I’m a realtor, I have that flex- ible time [and] I help with whatever needs to be done during the day, whether it’s assessing dogs, transport- ing dogs, things like that.” Johnson has raised funds for the organization before. Most recently she donated 5 percent of her sales commissions for homes closed during the month of August. She is planning a barrel race in September, a wine dinner at Fish Creek, and is working to organize a potential concert series. Bachelorette — Carol Cain Charity — Careity Foundation Restaurant — Short Chef Creations Carol Cain is a Parker County native through and through, living in Weatherford most of her life after her parents moved her here when she was in kindergarten. The Weatherford High School alumnus received her cosmetology license during high school, and attended both Weatherford College and Tarleton University after high school.  “I’ve been a hairdresser for 35 years,” Cain explained. “I also worked as a flight attendant from 2002 to 2009 for Delta Airlines, while still doing hair three days a week. I currently work at Hair on the Square here in Weatherford, for 18 years.” Cain is very active in the commu- nity as a chamber ambassador and active in the Weatherford Noon Lions Club as a member for 20 years. Cain is also very active in her church, Willow Park Baptist. She loves to spend time with her family, including her four grandchildren: Marybell, Mac Lee, Maylee Louise and Maxden. She is excited to be participating in our Sweet Charity event and raising money for her charity, the Careity Foundation.  “It’s a wonderful fun event to raise money for our charities and make others aware of what they do to actually help others. We don’t always see the pain people are going through, physically and financially,” Cain said.  As a longtime hairdresser, Cain knows about the struggles people with cancer go through, because she gives a listening ear to her clients who have either struggled with cancer themselves or had a family member who has struggled with it. She always tries to let them know
