families, medical evaluations, and
victim support. The CAC states
that Parker County law enforce-
ment investigated over 150 cases in
which children were listed as the
victims in 2016. In the same year,
Child Protective Services in Parker
County received 725 reports with
allegations of child physical abuse
or child sexual abuse. With stats
like these, this charity is in constant
need of donations.
Parker Paws is a newer charity to
our event, but a much needed one.
Founded in 2007, this charity helps
rescue and re-home hundreds of
pets, most from local animal shel-
ters, with many that need veteri-
nary care. This non-profit relies on
donations to help homeless pets
find loving homes through a foster
program. The foster pets are spayed/
neutered, vaccinated and micro-
chipped prior to adoption, and are
all done with donated money. Park-
er Paws and our other charity, the
Weatherford/Parker County Animal
Shelter, are both on the mission to
save as many pets as possible.
