and balance. Tate said of her workout, “We do a lot of balance stabilization, a lot of core training and
reactive time. Weights are not primary. We work also on functional training. Since she rides horses, we train
her to be a better equestrian. Her
exercises are specific to her sport.”
Sylvia said her workouts are fun
with Kerry and she said, “He keeps
me laughing. He and I laugh a lot.
We tease each other all the time. I
send him stuff on Facebook all the
time, especially funny things about
exercise.” Another benefit to her
workouts is balancing out her stronger side with her weaker one. “I think
I’m stronger now and more evenly
balanced. Everyone has a stronger
leg or a stronger side. When you’re
like that it’s harder to give cues to
your horse, so he balanced me out
a lot,” she continued. Kerry helps to
keep her workout fresh even when
she has an off day. “I went in one
day and I didn’t want to work out
so he suggested we go outside. We
worked out all around the downtown
