not last because it is not made of solid wood.
Rich is relatively new to Weatherford, having
moved here from Graham in 2014. She and her late
husband Butch bought the old Hodges Feed building
at 506 North Main St. After eight months of remodeling, Just Peachy opened its doors in February 2015,
and, according to Rich, “has a good following for
a business only a year and a half old.” The Riches
picked Weatherford for their start-up because of its
location and demographics.
“I didn’t feel confident to do this in Graham,” she
said. “There’s a lot of traffic through Weatherford and
you get people from all over. So I thought we would
do good.”
The front showroom of the business displays
numerous restored and repurposed pieces, but in the
back section Rich maintains a supply of “raw” items
customers are welcome to look over. Some ask her
to restore a particular piece using their specs or color
scheme, etc., while others buy an item to refinish
themselves. Either way, it’s all good, because Just
Peachy is something of a dream come true for Rich,
an outlet for her artsy or creative side.
“It has always been my dream to do this. It’s like
my 50-year switchover kinda deal — do something
new before you die!” she said with a laugh.
