Once upon a time
there was a rough,
tough, Weatherford
Police Chief Mike
Manning who had a
beautiful daughter
named Stephanie.
That daughter was the
center of the universe
to Chief Manning. Then Stephanie got
married and she became the center of the
universe to her husband, also.
This did not sit all that well with the
chief but he endured with grace, strength
and good humor.
Then, on March 9, 2014, Blakely Britton
was born to Stephanie and her husband.
Now the chief has a new center to his
universe. The center of the chief’s universe
turned 2, last spring.
“She has a really wide vocabulary,”
Chief Manning said. “She talks a lot but
we can’t always tell what the words are.”
Blakely calls the chief, “Bop.”
“The thing we like most to do together is
to watch movies together, Mickey Mouse,
Nemo and Monster Inc. are our favorites,”
Chief said.
“There’s a little girl in Monster Inc.
named Boo. We call Blakely, ‘Boo,’ when
we’re watching it. She is definitely the
center of my universe. It used to be
Stephanie, but now it’s Blakely.”
