ot every married couple has the ability to work well together but Taylor and John Brunner are
happy to be among the fortunate few.
They met in Kansas in 1998 when Taylor was working as an aircraft estimator and John was just
out of the military working as a right-away engineer procuring land for infrastructure. You might
say it was love at first “site. They married in 1999.
In 2000, John met a man named Randy Bloomer at the NFR in Las Vegas and the two men
became fast friends. Bloomer introduced John to a man named Brent Durham who owned a Chevrolet dealership in Kilgore and a trailer dealership.
Durham was looking for someone to help him in the day-to-day operations of the trailer dealership. John and Taylor were a perfect fit.
John and Taylor went to work for Durham, moved with their infant son to Texas and eventually,
they bought into the business.
They built the Brock location in 2004 at 104 Dennis Road just off I-20. And now they own the
business completely. Today, they’re living a very Texas lifestyle.
Both John and Taylor work hard to make their community of Brock a better place to live and
raise a family.
Little did Taylor dream that she would live in Brock, Texas on a little piece of land with horses
and cattle and pigs.
Their two children are both in 4-H and FFA.
“We have lots of animals now,” Taylor said. Their son John plays football, shows steers and is a
sophomore at Brock High School while daughter Rian shows pigs and plays volleyball.
The Brunner family is a positive force in their community, something that’s important to both
John and Taylor. John Brunner serves on the School Board at Brock ISD. “Serving on the school
board is something that John takes very seriously,” Taylor said.
With a strong focus on family values, John Bruner and a group of other Brock dads organized a
father/son Bible study group last year with a handful of dads and their teenaged sons. Now, they
have about 60 guys in attendance at the Praise Pavilion in Brock.
