Dr. Varughese is the newest addition to the Heart
Center of North Texas, based in Parker County
and Medical City Weatherford.
Before joining the Heart Center, Dr.
Varughese was part of the Congestive Heart Fail-
ure Team at Baylor All Saints Hospital, working
with the surgical team to develop a mechanical
circulatory support system for patients in Tarrant
County.
Born and raised in Dallas, it was during his
time volunteering at Methodist Dallas Medical
Center that Dr. Varughese developed his desire to
get involved in medicine, completing his Internal
Medicine training at Methodist Dallas Medical
Center. He became their chief resident for his
final year of residency.
He found that his true passion is cardiol-
ogy after experiencing the loss of a close
family member to heart disease. He went on to
complete his fellowship in general cardiology
at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth. From
there, he decided to expand his cardiovascular
background and specialize in Advanced Heart
Failure/Mechanical Circulatory Support, finish-
ing his Advanced Heart Failure Training at the
