Dr. Ray Page is a world class oncologist with accomplish-
ments and academic honors and awards too numerous to
list in this article (see our sidebar, we’ve listed just a few
of them), but the patients and family members of patients
that nominated him as one of PCT’s Heroes in Healthcare
didn’t mention awards. Instead, they focused on things
like the level of care he gave them, his kindness, his
consideration and how he listened to them.
“A kind-hearted genius,” one patient said.
“I do love to take care of my patients,” Dr. Ray Page
said. “But one of the other things I love to do is cancer
research and running research programs.”
Because Dr. Page has a PhD in pharmacology as well
as two doctorates, he is in a position to help patients in a
unique way.
“Having that PhD in pharmacology has driven me to
find out about new drugs and novel therapies for cancer
patients,” he said. “I started the research program about
22 years ago, so having the PhD has really helped.”
Dr. Page’s research work has opened the door to new
and experimental drugs for the Center’s patients here
in Parker County so than facing the arduous prospect
