Army. One of those five years was
spent in Afghanistan.
“It was a good time. It was one of
those traveling experiences that I will
never forget. I had a lot of growth
during that time,” he said.
Johnson is originally from Mineral
Wells, but his family spent a lot of
time in Weatherford. He currently
lives on 10 acres close to Garner
with two dogs, both Corgi mixes. He
sold his horses when he joined the
Army and hasn’t replaced them.
“With everything I do running a
business, I really don’t have the time
to spend with horses, and it would
be a waste to just have them hanging
around,” he said.
He likes being a farrier because
it allows him to be his own boss and
make his own schedule.
“If I’m making money or losing
a client, I know it’s just because of
me. If I have something coming up, I
can shift clients around so I can have
part of Friday off if I need to get out
of town,” he said. “It’s like anybody
