clinic to assist veterans and first
responders with their legal needs.
PCT: What is your definition of the
best day ever?
RW: Spending time with family and
friends.
PCT: What’s the best piece of advice
you would give?
RW: The most valuable piece of
advice I can give to someone is to be
you. Be all of you and nothing less.
PCT: What is the coolest thing you
have done in your life?
RW: That question is twofold for
me. I finally got a chance to go to
Washington, D.C., last year and
advocate for veterans on Capitol Hill.
I am looking forward to the chance
to do it again this year. Closer to
home is being on the Parker County
Veterans Memorial Park committee.
A project that took us eight years to
complete, but we succeeded and
created something remarkable that
will last long past my lifetime.

Parker County Today: How did you
get into your occupation?
Pat Deen: On March 6, I won the
2018 Republican Primary to be the
next Parker County Judge. With the
vacancy created, I was sworn in early
on Sept. 7 of this year. Previously, I
served the citizens of Hudson Oaks
in various roles, serving as mayor,
mayor pro-tem, council member and
chair of the Planning and Zoning
Board. I also worked for Duracell as
a Global Business Director for the
past 20 years.
PCT: What is your favorite novel?
PD: “Present Over Perfect,” by
Shauna Niequist. It’s a great read in
learning to be more self-aware of the
constant pressures we face in life and
how to better deal and reduce stress.
PCT: What do you do to decompress?
PD: Playing catch or coaching my
14-year-old son is a great stress relief
for me. I also enjoy running and
working out.
PCT: What is something people don’t
know about you?
PD: I have a passion for adventure
and getting out of my comfort zone
more than I used to. At the top of my
list is skydiving. I really want to do
that!
PCT: What would you most like to be
remembered for?
PD: First and foremost, being a good
father. Also, making a positive impact
in my community. I have lived much
of my life as a public servant and
deeply care about making a differ-
ence in people’s lives.
PCT: What’s your favorite way to pay
it forward?
PD: Make a difference in the life
of a child. The single most impor-
tant thing you can give a child is
your time and undivided attention.
Coaching baseball has been a great
experience in working with kids and
making the game a fun experience.
PCT: If you could have lunch with
anyone, living or dead in history,
who would it be?
PD: My late grandmother. She passed
away when I was very young, but I
have fond memories spending time
with her. Sadly, I didn’t have the
privilege of having her growing up.
PCT: If you had to do another job
other than what you’re doing, what
would you do?
PD: Something in a business consul-
tative role in either the public or
private sector. Honestly, I love being
the Parker County Judge so much, I
can’t imagine doing anything else.
PCT: What is your definition of the
best day ever?
PD: Waking up and knowing my
family is safe. Enjoying and making
the best of every moment regardless
of what challenges come my way.
PCT: What’s the best piece of advice
you would give?
PD: Be yourself. Never compromise
who you are, despite the challenges
you face in life.
PCT: What is the coolest thing you
have done in your life?
PD: Not sure it’s the coolest, but
when I was younger, racing moto-
cross. It was an incredible experi-
ence with many of my friends racing
together. The feeling of excitement
was incredible.

Parker County Today: How did you
get into your occupation?
Tyler Moore: I started this business
in the fall of 2018, taking a hobby/
passion and turning it into a business
that I have been thinking about for a
few years. I enjoy working outdoors,
problem solving, and the rewards
that come with this industry. With the
