MM: My best day ever would be
having my rescue dog do whatever
I asked her to do without giving me
that look. You know the one… with
her head back, eyes wide open and
an expression that says “I did that
yesterday.” people live their life as it happens
and some of us make life happen.
After all, it is your life experiences
that create the person you are to
become. My mom was really smart to
make me wait until I was an adult to
go outside and play.
PCT: What is the best piece of advice
you would give?
MM: My best piece of advice is to
memorize this quote: “Whatever the
mind can conceive and believe it can
achieve.” Great success will follow. Matt Milligan
Matt is the owner of Trinity
County Real Estate and
Milligan Excavation
PCT: What is the coolest thing you
have ever done?
MM: How do you decide which
is the coolest thing you have ever
done when you love heart pound-
ing, adrenalin pumping adventures
like white water kayaking class five
rapids, kayaking through the San Juan
Islands while the whales are migrat-
ing to Alaska, climbing the Andes
Mountains in Bolivia, bicycling 80
miles a day across China, skydiving,
bungee jumping, parasailing, hot
air ballooning, zip-lining and glider
flying. What can I say except some
Parker County Today: How did you
get into your occupation?
MM: About 21 years ago I was work-
ing for a commercial roofing compa-
ny, traveling all over the US bidding/
selling roofing jobs. I was fascinated
with the roofing, but hated the travel-
ing. I knew there had to be something
better for me. One afternoon I was
sitting in a dove field visiting with a
good friend. He knew how discour-
aged I was with my current profes-
sion. He mentioned that I should get
into real estate and he had the perfect
broker I needed to visit with. He said
you grew up ranching and you can
sell, so it should be a perfect fit! With
his advice, along with many others, I
decided to take the leap. I have been
blessed ever since then.
PCT: What is your favorite novel?
MM: Being dyslexic, reading big
novels hasn’t always been top prior-
ity; however, my favorite audio book
is The Big Rich.
PCT: What do you do to decompress?
MM: Put my phone away and go
outside and take some big breaths of
fresh air. I tend to do this numerous
times a day…
PCT: What is something people don’t
know about you?
MM: I take things very personable. If I
have upset someone for some reason,
I will do my very best to make things
right. It’s not uncommon to lose sleep
over it until things are right.
