Norma Crutcher Norma is a Shift Supervisor for the Parker County Sheriff’s Office Parker County Today: How did you get into your current occupation?  NC: My grandfather was in law enforcement and was the former Weatherford Police Department Chief of Police. He suggested I apply at Parker County Sheriff’s Office for a dispatch position. I had just left Best Buy being a customer service manag- er, and had previously dispatched for an air conditioning/heating company. He thought I would really enjoy it. PCT: What is your favorite novel? NC: My favorite novel would be the Twilight series. PCT: What do you do to decompress? NC: I enjoy sewing, baking or craft- ing. NC: I would most like to be remem- bered for having a servant’s heart, being a loving and giving wife, moth- er and grandmother, and for being a good Christian. PCT: What’s your favorite way to pay it forward? NC: My favorite way to pay it forward is impromptu. I like to surprise people. I give from the heart and always try to help others. It may be in small ways, but to some people, it makes huge differences.    PCT: If you could choose to have lunch with anyone, living or dead from history, who would it be? NC: I would have to say Princess Diana. I highly respect her humani- tarian work. She truly had a servant’s heart. She cared for others, disregard- ing her own safety, and gave all she had to make a difference. PCT: If you had to pursue another career, other than the one you have now, what would you do? NC: If I was to pursue another career, it would be a teacher. I love to teach others and watch them grow their knowledge and confidence. I current- ly teach classes in communications. PCT: What’s the best piece of advice you would give to someone starting out in your field? NC: My best piece of advice would be to have patience and understand- ing. Remember, this isn’t an everyday occurrence for the person needing help. PCT: What is the coolest thing you have done in your life?  NC: Besides being married to my soul mate for 32 years and becoming a mother to two amazing daughters, last year I went scuba diving for the first time in my life at the Great Barri- er Reef in Carnes, Australia.  Ericha Schmidt Ericha is the Executive Director of Weatherford’s Chick-fil-A and was a 2018 bachelorette Parker County Today: How did you get in your occupation?  ES: I was 16 years old looking for a job and got hired on the spot at Chick-fil-A.
