our people: PCT NEWS Misty Browning Promoted to PCT Associate Publisher T 84 he Leadership at Parker County Today magazine is excited to announce that Managing Editor Misty Browning will become the magazine’s Associate Publisher. “We are so happy to have Misty on board at this level with the maga- zine,” Publisher Marsha Brown said. “She is a great asset to the maga- zine, to me personally, and to every- one who works with her on a daily basis. The fact that we have grown to the point that we have the need for this position in the magazine speaks volumes about the success of PCT and about the growth of Parker County. Clearly, not only has the county grown rapidly since the magazine’s inception in 2005 but the majority of those who are moving to Parker County are read- ers who see the value in buying a magazine like Parker County Today. People don’t buy magazines unless they want to read them.” Browning has been with PCT for more than two years and brings years of experience in journalism, both social media communications aspect, management and editorial to her new role. Browning holds a Bachelors of Science in Communications with a Minor in Marketing and a Master’s of Communication from Tarleton State University, where she graduated at the top of her class. Browning also has been published in numer- ous publications, including her two academic studies; Small Business and Social Media: A Exploratory Case Study of Companies in Rural America and And When Fake News Travels Faster Than Real News, Who is to be Held Accountable, which have been published in academic journals. “I’m excited to be a part of such a great publication that has its finger on the pulse of Parker County,” Browning said. “It is truly an honor to be working with such a great group of people.” Browning is, of course a long-time resident of Parker County, where she lives with her husband, Andy Browning and three children. Besides working tirelessly to make each PCT better than the last one, she is very involved with her community. She serves on the board of Zonta, volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, serves as an Ambassador with the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce, is involved with Leadership Weatherford along with numerous other civic and community endeavors.
