PARKER COUNTY AG PARKER COUNTY’S WONDER WOMAN PEYTON THOMAS BY CHRISTINA LOVELESS Peyton Thomas, a senior at Poolville High School, is the secretary for her school’s FFA program and has been showing a variety of animals for the last four years. Some of Peyton’s biggest victories have come while showing Breeding Swine, Milking Goats and Breeding Goats. In the show ring, Peyton is a big success. Although she has won numerous awards over the span of her four-year show career, one of her favorites was her victory at the Parker County Youth Livestock Show where she won the High Overall Livestock Judging award. “Basically it’s first place,” Peyton said. Aside from showing animals, Peyton is in the National Honor Society, she serves on her high school’s student council, works on her school’s yearbook staff and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She’s also an active member of the Spring Creek 4-H Club and has an internship with the Parker County Agriculture Extension Agency. Peyton’s plans after graduating high school include going to a four-year university to work toward a major in Agricultural Leadership and Development with a minor in Agricultural Science. All of those plans are just a part of reaching for her ultimate goal of becoming an agricultural extension agent.
