our youth: AG KIDS Mac ‘N Cheese BY CHRISTINA LOVELESS OCTOBER 2015 PA R K E R C O U N T Y T O D AY S he’s the girl behind Little Mac D Dairy Farm, who creates everything from flavorful goat cheese, to insanely unforgettable fragranced-soaps. Mackenzie Daniels does it all without help, while juggling a schedule that would make a Navy Seal drag. Mackenzie starts her day at the crack of dawn. She milks her goats twice a day, shows her goats and is an ambassador for the Parker County 4-H Youth Livestock Association. Mackenzie Daniels started her agricultural career in 2007, inspired by her 4-H leader, who raised and showed goats. “I was five,” Mackenzie said. “I thought that anything that was little and cute and fluffy should be mine. I said I really wanted goats but my mom said we don’t need goats until we have moved out to the country.” And, moved to the country the Daniels family did. They bought a milking cow, but since the cow was too big for Mackenzie to handle, the family acquired a few goats for her to milk. “I learned about showing goats and all the things you can do with their milk,” Mackenzie said. 94
