could to save him, but in the end they couldn’t stand to see him in pain any longer. At about seven months old, Cain is a healthy, new addition, but it wasn’t that way for a while. Brandon had originally planned to give him to Michele’s parents as a gift because most of their pets had died. However, about a week after he was adopted, Cain became extremely sick. “They thought he had distemper, then it wasn’t distemper, but long story short, we had to get a nebulizer and medicine,” Brandon said, adding that Cain is now healthy once more. Cain’s luck had just begun when he was pulled out of the drain culvert. Now, four months later, Cain enjoys running around with his fur siblings, a Miniature Pincher Chihuahua mix named Daisy and a Pit Bull named Sage. His favorite thing to do is greet his family when they walk in the door by jumping completely off the floor and into their arms. The couple is overjoyed with their pet and they continue to cherish him every day.
