Parker County Committee on Aging (Senior Center) was established in 1975
in a small building near downtown Weatherford. We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization currently located at 1225 Holland Lake Road in Weatherford.
We are not a federal or state agency. The vast majority of our programs are
funded through the very generous support of Parker County’s residents, businesses, corporations, and foundations. The organization utilizes 125 volunteers
per week for the Meals-on-Wheels program alone. In other programs, another
25 volunteers per week assist the organization.
We encourage active seniors to come visit the Senior Center and participate
in activities such as bingo, dominoes, cards, yoga, music, exercise, garage sale
and general fellowship with other seniors. We also serve lunch at the center
Monday through Friday. PCCOA also manages a large Meals-on-Wheels
program, contacts the homebound daily through volunteers, and assists the
elderly seeking Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid information.
PCCOA is the only one of its kind in Parker County. We work diligently to
build strong partnerships with families, businesses, and regional healthcare
organizations in and outside of the county. Besides our congregate and mealson-wheels lunch programs we also provide transportation for seniors within
the county, have an emergency food panty and have liquid nutritional supplements available to help our seniors live independently.
