OCTOBER 2015 Careity began producing the Celebrity Cutting event to fund a mammogram program and other breast cancer services in 1995 and Careity Rocks, benefiting the palliative care unit at Cook Children’s Hospital. How does Careity provide so much help to so many patients? “It’s because of the relationships we’ve managed to build,” Branch said. “Relationships are what make it all work. Of course, we really are very hands-on. We know our services really do make a difference in people’s lives.” Careity Day is offered throughout Parker County as well as Johnson and Tarrant counties. Careity provides free mammograms, and beyond that it provides free care for any participant diagnosed with breast cancer at one of the events, from biopsy through surgery. Careity’s pediatric palliative care program provides help to children with life-threatening illnesses, treated at Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.  Careity Foundation has raised the bar among nonprofit organizations in helping with both care management and financial aid. “We work very hard every day with both the patients and clinicians to make sure that nobody falls through the cracks,” Walsh said. “When I get a call from someone who needs help, I don’t stop until they get help.” Gina Wren is one of those. “I’m so grateful to Careity for all they did for me,” Wren said. “I’m going to the Pink Luncheon because I want to thank everyone I can find who supports Careity Foundation and tell them how much I appreciate what they’ve done for me.” Express S4 RUGGED RELIABILITY - 15
