I recommend a vacation in Texas.
My wife and I recently took a much-needed vacation.
After copious deliberation, we decided on a trip starting
in Texas, up through New Mexico and then to Colorado
and back down to Santa Fe, then back home to Texas.
One of the things we wanted to accomplish was to go
slow through Texas for the beginning of our trip and look at
some of the great historical places along the way. Always
before, when we went on trips in Texas, we went as fast as
possible through the small towns along the way. But, this
time we wanted to enjoy it, the restaurants, motels, coffee
shops, stores, etc. ...
I even did some research on some of the towns we
planned to travel through.
The result of this was we really had fun and loved
learning about the history.
One of the things we really wanted to see after reading
a book about Charles Goodnight was the Goodnight ranch
house and museum. It’s located in Goodnight, Texas, off
Hwy. 287, just a few ֖
