Mysteries of the Universe Pondered

NOVEMBER 2016 PARKER COUNTY TODAY can ’ t help wondering about little things that

I seem to happen for what appears to be no good reason . So here is my first question : Why is the ice cream / shake machine always broken down or otherwise unavailable at McDonalds and Dairy Queen ?

It would seem to me that major fast food restaurants that serve ice cream , being busy all day long ( and in reading business articles , need more customers ) would want an important machine like that to be functional all the time .
I know it ’ s a small thing to bring up ; it just bugs me ; been happening this way for years . This reminds me of a sign I saw on I-20 in mid- October . It was one of those digital highway signs that tell you about road construction for a couple of weeks . The sign said , “ I-20 closed 10 / 21 .”
That ’ s all it said . It didn ’ t say that it was going to be closed at a certain time until a certain time . It didn ’ t say it was closed from one certain point to another certain point . It didn ’ t say I-20 will be closed from Weatherford to Fort Worth . It didn ’ t say I-20 will be closed from Abilene to Dallas , or from El Paso to Shreveport , or from Hudson Oaks to Siberia . No . It simply said , “ I-20 closed 10 / 21 .” I know one woman who was nervous that I-20 would be closed nationwide , indefinitely . Maybe they ’ ll give us more info later .
Random thoughts :
I think there needs to be a dry cleaners located at Railhead Smokehouse BBQ , so when you get the sauce all over your shirt they give you a loaner shirt and clean yours before you have to
112 leave . As it is now , I just carry an extra shirt .
From time to time I run across some cool things . It doesn ’ t make sense to see or experience these things and not share them , so here goes ... To make a good story as short as possible , the president of Apple ( The Beatles ’ Apple ) over the years received a lot of 8mm and 16mm clips from behind-the-scenes , never-seenbefore Beatles clips . After accumulating these clips , originally wanting to do something with them to share with the public , he talked to Ron Howard , and eventually we ended up with a great documentary / movie that was released in September , both at movie theaters and later on Hulu . I mention this because if you are or you know anyone who is a true Beatle fan , or even likes the Beatles a bit , you owe it to yourself to see this ! In my opinion it ’ s an event . It ’ s a part of history never to be duplicated and the chance to see behind-the-scenes footage , really the real story of The Beatles touring years ; this is not to be passed up . See it !
Now , here ’ s some homework for everyone . Look up John C . Portman , Jr . One of the great entrepreneurs in our world , born 1924 , he still works at his desk to this very day , answers calls , holds meetings with his employees daily . If you would like to see where some of the iconic structures we take for granted today come from , take a look at John C . Portman , Jr .
And remember — Be careful what you “ Insta - Google - Tweet - Facebook !”
Also , my favorite quote of the month is , “ Never miss a good chance to shut up .”
