After earning her business degree
from the University of Wyoming, Jill
Loden turned a part-time summer
job into her life’s work. She is
the daughter of rodeo owners.
Her parents own and operate
Powder River Rodeo, LLC. She is
professionally known as a sound and
music technician, gaining experience
first at her parents’ rodeo handling the
sound and music during summers.
Jill began her own company,
Jill’s Sound, in 2002. She provides
musical accompaniment and sound
equipment for CBR and PRCA events.
“I gear the music to what’s going
on in the show,” she said. “I like
to enhance the show by providing
entertaining music, building suspense,
getting the crowd involved,” Jill said.
Jill’s husband, Brandon, is a
professional bullfighter, working
on the CBR’s production crew
since 2009. Bullfighters were onc e
called rodeo clowns, but Brandon
and others like him use the term
“bullfighter” because he said, “I don’t
tell jokes.” The bullfighter’s main job
is to protect the cowboys from the
bulls when they get thrown. There is
a rodeo clown in the ring as well who
tells the jokes and keeps the crowds
