Paula Robinson, Treasurer, 3701 Cliff View Loop, Weatherford, TX 76087 Originally from Matamoros, Mexico, this year’s winner of The V.A. Little- ton Outstanding Artist Award, Edgar Esquivel, has called Weatherford home since December 2005. He works for the City of Weatherford as a lead lineman and has worked in the power/electricity industry since he was 19.  “I feel like this is my home,” said Edgar. “This IS my home. I’ve been kind of adopted here and I love it — I love every minute of it. The people are so friendly and Weatherford is such a peaceful town, and I have a lot of friends here and a lot of people know me. ” The 41-year-old gives back to the community through his art, donating pieces to benefit worthy causes, such as breast cancer awareness. “It was for an auction for a great cause,” he said. “It made me feel good that it was for this community.” Edgar is very proud of his chil- dren — Mia, 21; Chloe, 19; and Jesse, 16 — and considers them his greatest “accomplishment.”  Asked how he felt about receiving the V.A. Littleton Outstanding Artist Award, the unassuming artist said: “I’m very honored. I didn’t expect it at all. It caught me off guard, for sure.” 25
