and he said he was one of the children in that picture of the first service
ever held in the Couts building,” she
explained. “He came in off the street
one day and asked if I minded him
going inside the chapel. He took me
over there and walked me through the
chapel, showing where the women
had met, where a door had once
been — lots of things like that. Really
neat.”
It’s probably safe to say that
Galbreaith-Pickard and the quaintly
elegant building they use for their services will be perched upon the corner
lot at 913 North Elm St. for many
years to come. It seems the Plowmans
know what they have and are ready
and willing to provide the stewardship required.
But that does not rule out change.
In fact, Galbreaith-Pickard is building
a second location in Willow Park on
the north side of the interstate near
Fish Creek restaurant on the access
road.
“The need arose to have an additional facility to serve Eastern Parker
County and to take a little pressure off
the existing facility here in town, as
far as services go,” Plowman said.
If all goes according to plan, the
new facility will open in late May.
