Richard A. Crosley II
Patrol Sergeant, Parker County
Sheriff’s Office
Q: What do you do?
A: Supervise five patrol deputies and
one corporal. The deputies take calls
and make arrests. I make sure the
paper work they do is complete and
correct. Amongst other things, I keep
in contact with them on a personal
level and make sure that they come
to work happy and confident. I am
also an-11 year member of the Parker
County/ Weatherford combined
SWAT team.
Q: What is your favorite book?
A: Any Star Wars book, also the
series of Game of Thrones wasn’t too
bad.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Major League, Full Metal Jacket,
Empire Strikes Back ... .Those are all
good.
Q: What kind of music are you into?
A: I listen to a variety of music, but I
think I prefer Classic Rock the most.
Most of the music today assaults all
six senses.
Q: What’s the most daring thing
you’ve ever done?
A: The first thing that comes to mind
is when I was about 10, I pulled a
bike on top of the roof of my house,
which was connected to a garage,
that had a Ford Pinto next to it. I
tried to jump off the house, onto the
garage, land on the car, and then
finally land on the ground. It was a
lot cooler in my head, as I crashed
head first into the car, rolling off the
vehicle and having the bike land on
my head. Fail.
Q: Would you recommend your
career for other people? Why?
A: I would say that if you like challenging yourself mentally, physically,
and emotionally, then this job is for
you. All through a single day, you
get out of this job every emotion.
It’s never the same, and when you
think you had it figured out, someone
does something that leaves you shaking your head, and wondering how
humanity got this far, or to shaking
your head, and wondering how much
more humanity is going to accomplish.
Q: What do you do to chill?
A: I ride my motorcycle. That might
be the easiest form of relaxation
to find, unless someone in a car
almost hits me...almost,... and, then I
continue my relaxing ride back to my
house.
Q: If you could visit any place in the
world, where would you go?
A: Israel, Ireland and England.
Q: What person from history would
you most like to have lunch with?
A: I think George W. Bush, Ron
Burgundy, Elvis, Teddy Roosevelt,
and Jackie Robinson. I would have to
give directions to Bush though, I’m
afraid he would get lost.
Q: If someone asked you for your
best piece of advice, what would you
say?
A: If you think it’ s wrong, it probably
is. And, learn grammar, that’s always
neat.
Q. What’s your favorite hobby?
A: Well, riding motorcycles, or
boxing... . Boxing is great.
Q. What is the one thing that makes
you happy?
A: Watching my dog chase a ball, or
a cat, or a ball cat, if that’s a thing.
Q: What makes you really sad?
A: I don’t have anything that comes
to mind.
Q: What scares you?
A: I think maybe hippos, because
they eat more than marbles, apparently they are not big fans of people.
Can’t say I blame them.
Q: Do you like to plan things out in
detail or be spontaneous?
A: Either or... . I will make plans and
end up doing none of it, and doing
something close to what I wanted to
do.
Q: If you could go back in history,
what era would you like to land in?
A: I think going back in time is
impossible at this point, but if it
ever does become possible, I want
to go back to the point of WWII. I
would want to play baseball for the
Brooklyn Dodgers, get drafted into
the military and help squash the Axis
powers, and then continue my career
in baseball.
Q: Who in your life has influenced
you the most? How?
A: My Uncle, Ed Yeager. He might
be the smartest and funniest person I
have ever known. And he has a very
kind chin.
Q: What would you most like to be
remembered for?
A: My dry sense of humor.
PA R K E R C O U N T Y T O D AY

you want to be when you grew up?
A: I thought I might be a shark wrestler, but I found ou t I got seasick
easily, scratching that idea, I wanted
Q: How did you get into your field?
A: I started in the security field and
found that I liked catching burglars
and calling in DWIs and such.
