eral cats have been a continuing problem in Parker County, at least for
the past decade. With their rapid procreation rate and their unregulated
territory, feral cats often run rampant. They are drawn to heavily populated
areas because of available food scraps and other human leftovers that are
readily available.
In order to provide a positive solution to feral cats in our neighborhoods,
the Weatherford-Parker County Animal Shelter has developed a barn cat
program; because feral cats are usually too wild to be domesticated or
adopted as family pets, they often end up being euthanized.
