Now , he continues to work in his family ’ s business , Texas Tire Sales .
He is excited about raising money for his charity , which is the Make-A-Wish Foundation because its focus is fulfilling the ‘ wishes ’ of critically ill children . JUNE 2017 PARKER COUNTY TODAY

Bachelor : Joe Lane

Charity : Careity Foundation Chef : Joe Lane / Fish Creek
A native of Fort Worth , Joe and his family moved to Parker County in 2001 . Although Joe didn ’ t attend public school , the famed chef and owner of Fish Creek graduated from Nolan Catholic High School and attended college at Southern Methodist University .
It was at SMU that his life took a turn into the restaurant business . In what Joe calls “ kinda a fluke ,” it was a lost dog found by a SMU librarian that got his foot in the door of the restaurant business . By a coincidence , that dog was owned by an operating partner of Razzoo ’ s , and since Joe was already on the path to leave SMU , he got a job working for him in the restaurant . Joe moved back to Parker County , and has been working in the industry ever since .
When he has spare time , he likes to do outdoor activities like golfing , hunting and shooting . His favorite thing to do is spend time with his daughter , Maddie . He cherishes and loves the time he gets to spend with her so much , that he decided to not consult on or buy another restaurant due to the possibility of not getting to spend time with her .
“ I remembered how the first five to six years are in the restaurant business when I was building Fish Creek , so I decided to count my blessings and stay where I am so that when Maddie is with me , I can leave and spend time with her . I don ’ t think I could have done that if I have bought or consulted another business ,” he said .
He ’ s passionate about Careity Foundation , not only because the two driving forces behind Careity ( Lyn Walsh and Beverly Branch ) happen to be his close personal friends , but also because he has seen people who have been directly affected and touched by their work . He has a huge amount of respect for them and helps them in any way he can .
His future plans are simple ; “ hanging out with my daughter and being the best dad that I can be .”
