Valedictorians & Salutatorians
BY MELISSA MOORMAN
When the temperatures start to climb, the restaurants are filled with high school students
dressed in their prom finery and everywhere starts advertising cakes with mortar boards and
tassels on top, so you know it’s graduation time once again in Parker County. This year’s
crop of high school valedictorians and salutatorians are as varied as the schools they are
attending and the majors they are pursuing. The closest one is starting off at Weatherford
College, the farthest away will be studying at Scotland’s oldest college founded in 1413. We
have future doctors, lawyers, mathematicians, engineers, educators, baseball pitchers and
managers in the bunch. But what they all have in common is the ability to succeed and to
rise above their classmates. Here are this year’s valedictorians and salutatorians from all of
our county’s high schools. I hope you feel, like I do, that our future is in good hands.

learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what
you are doing or learning to do. – Pele
