Here They Are ... BY MARSHA BROWN Who says we have a shortage of good, fascinating, kind-hearted, giving single men in Parker County? Definitely, not us at Parker County Today Magazine. In preparation for Boots, B-B-Q & Bachelors, 2016, our committee selected five energetic, benevolent guys from a field of many. On July 28, at the clubhouse of the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Grounds the 2016 Bachelor of the Year will be revealed. See who is your favorite. (Note: The bachelor that raises the most money for their charity will be the winner, as will the charity) Weston Decker - Make-A-Wish Foundation North Texas Born and raised in Texas, Weston attended Peaster High School and now owns his own snow cone stand. The young entrepreneur just finished his last year at Weatherford College and plans to attend Texas Women’s University in the fall. Weston is excited about the opportunity that being a Parker County Today Bachelor represents. When asked how he felt about his nomination he replied with a smile, “It feels absolutely amazing; it really is a huge honor.” As far as characteristics he looks for in a woman, Weston is looking for someone intelligent, hard-working, and definitely independent and goal-driven. “Preferably someone my height or shorter, maybe just a smidgeon taller,” he joked. In the future, Weston hopes to still have his business, though plans for that are still a ways off. He also hopes to graduate from TWU and take on another job with the degree in occupational therapy that he plans to pursue. In his spare time, when he has any, he enjoys being outside, riding his motorcycle, spending large amounts of time at the lake, camping and traveling when he can. Weston hopes to bring charisma and the many connections he’s made to his charity and looks forward to helping in any way he can. ® JUNE 2016 PA R K E R C O U N T Y T O D AY Don Feare - CASA 54 Don grew up in the Garland and Arlington areas. Though retired from fulltime police work, he still works part-time in the field. Don was extremely surprised at his nomination for Parker County Today Bachelor but excited. He is ready to meet new people and participate in something that is for a good cause. Don would like to find a classy, intelligent woman with a good sense of humor who is motivated, enjoys doing things outdoors, and has a soft spot for animals. In the future he hopes to contribute to the development of the WC Law Enforcement Academy, be involved in tactical training and the contract security industry, and form a relationship with a great woman. As a big outdoors person, Don enjoys riding his motorcycle, which he explained is a sport bike and not a cruiser; outdoor activities; taking tactical training classes; and spending time relaxing at home with his dog. Don believes he can bring teamwork to the table, as well as his strong desire to help his charity.
